As we alluded to a while back, we would like to hold a contest for our readers. You may remember we held a trivia contest last season; Katie Sekelsky, the talented creator of Sketchbook BUCN, was our winner.
Gerrit Cole, the Pirates’ top prospect, is quickly moving through the organization. The 22 year old UCLA product has the ability to make a huge impact for Pittsburgh, and he could get the call at some point in 2013.
As a reward for checking our site over the last year and to celebrate Cole’s eventual arrival in the major leagues, we are putting a pair of free tickets on the line for the person who correctly predicts the date of his MLB debut. We can’t pick a date for the tickets just yet; we’ll decide once Cole is with the club and the winner is chosen. We are willing to negotiate with the winner for a game date.
All you need to do is leave a comment in the comments section below. It’s a very quick and easy process for an opportunity to get down to PNC Park. Our commenting system allows you to login in with Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Disqus, or simply as a Guest with your email address.
In case multiple people choose the same date, here’s the tiebreaker: how many innings will Cole pitch in his debut?
If the exact date is not predicted, we’ll award the tickets to the closest guesser. If there are further complications, the tiebreaker will come into play.
The deadline for all entries will be Sunday, April 14th at 11:59 pm.
Again, all you have to do for a shot at free tickets is leave a comment with the following information:
1. The date you think Gerrit Cole will make his MLB debut
2. How many innings you think he’ll pitch in his debut (tiebreaker)
