After a successful 4-2 homestand, the Bucs take their show on the road for the first time in 2014. Before visiting the Brewers and Reds, the Pirates will stop in Chicago for a three-game set with the Cubs, a team they took two of three from last week at PNC Park. Let’s get the guns firing…

Probable Pitchers

Tuesday – Charlie Morton (0-0, 0.00) vs. Edwin Jackson (0-0, 1.69)

Wednesday – Wandy Rodriguez (0-1, 4.50) vs. Jason Hammel (1-0, 1.35)

Thursday – Gerrit Cole (1-0, 2.57) vs. Travis Wood (0-1, 4.26)

News, Notes, Storylines

- The last series the Pirates played at Wrigley…

- Good stuff from Travis Sawchik: Charlie Morton throws like Roy Halladay, but can he pitch like him?

- Tom Singer has more on Morton:

“Charlie has gone from hoping to win to expecting to win.” – Clint Hurdle

- Andrew McCutchen hasn’t done much… yet. He’s hit .370/.510/.580 hitter in 81 at-bats at Wrigley since 2011, so hopefully he gets something going…

Bleacher Nation | Cubbies Crib | The Cub Reporter

What they’re saying:

” If the Cubs plan to win it in 9, they’ll need the lefty-heavy lineup – the one that struggled against Morton last time, but dominated A.J. Burnett this weekend – to fare well. I know, I know, Lake-Olt-Grr, but this is the right approach for now, not only in general, but against a righty hard sinker guy like Morton.” – Bleacher Nation on Tuesday’s game
Player to Watch

Emilio Bonifacio – he dominated at PNC last week, collecting 11 of the Cubs’ 28 hits. He currently has 14 hits, five runs, and four stolen bases through six games. Let’s see if the Bucs can contain him this time around…

Prediction Time

Took two of three from the Cubs… Took two of three from the Cardinals… Might as well take two of three from the Cubs again. And let’s hope for plenty of holstering the double guns.
