Much deserved, Andrew McCutchen continues to rack up the honors. He hit .317/.404/.508 in 157 games this year, making his third All-Star team and leading the Pirates to the postseason. This is his second year in a row winning the Silver Slugger.
But Cutch wasn’t the only Bucco getting some hardware on Wednesday night: third baseman Pedro Alvarez also took home a Silver Slugger. He may have led the NL in strikeouts (186), but he also led in home runs (36). El Toro drove in 100 runs over 152 games.
Great to see Cutch and Pedro getting recognized for their success in the Pirates’ storybook season. Even more awards are on the way.
